PHILADELPHIA: AMERICA'S HIDDEN JEWEL

A Wedding Photographer’s Look at the City of Philadelphia

The city of Philadelphia is one that has a lot of history. Often touted as the perfect balance between NYC and Chicago, the city offers a host of hidden gems that are not very celebrated but still post worthy.

As a Wedding photographer who was trained as an Architect, I strive to find the balance between intimacy and landscape, this balance is what I centered my journey with LaShanda and Cory, my latest couple. We decided to do their pre-wedding shoot in downtown Philadelphia and below are some of the best spots I found to make Awesome and Amazing Images.

1 - Philadelphia City Hall

In the heart of the city is a gorgeous street, that perfectly aligns to one of the side entrances of the City Hall in Philadelphia. The Architecture, Symmetry and Ornamentation make for an excellent backdrop for Regal looking Pre-wedding Images

2 - McGillins Old Ale House

This location speaks directly to the history of the city as well as the few things that many may not associate with History. McGillins is the oldest bar in the city of Philadelphia and as such one of the oldest bars in the country. It is nestled within the new developments that have evolved over time, yet the structure has stood the test of time, still serving residents of the city and long old timers. The brick exterior, Whiskey drums, Colored Shutters and Winery Vines all make for a very intimate setting for making Regal images

3 - Philadelphia Love Park

This is probably the easiest of all locations, as it was made for this exact reason. To celebrate Love and Intimacy. The park boasts a host of different photo worthy spots, Including the New LOVE sculpture that can be seen from anywhere in the park.
